Product details
The gravel impact testing machine is a testing equipment specially designed and manufactured for the anti gravel and gravel impact testing of automotive materials and their surface coatings;
The testing principle of the gravel impact testing machine is to use compressed air to launch gravel or other media onto the test sample to simulate the effect of gravel on the coating layer or other automotive components on the road.
The testing machine is used to test the following situations: adhesion failure of topcoat, adhesion failure of different layers of paint, system brittleness of hard transparent materials, optimal film thickness of chip resistors, and cutting and wear resistance of plastics and glass.
Radio and Television Metrology has two gravel impact testing machines located in the Guangzhou and Shanghai laboratories. The types of experiments that can be conducted include SAE 90 ° collision, SAE 45 ° collision, VDA 90 ° collision, and VDA 45 ° collision tests. The impact type and angle can be selected according to different standard requirements.

Scope of application:

It can be used for automotive exterior parts, painted metal sheets, coated sheets, automotive exterior electronic components, instruments and meters that are at risk of being impacted by sand, gravel or metal particles during actual use.

Testing standards:

SAE J400-2012, ASTM D3170-2014, D3170M-2014, ISO 20567 1-2017, etc.

Experimental project:

1. According to the SAE J400-2012 test method A (B or C) gravel impact requirements, the specific requirements are as follows:
1) Sample processing temperature: Method A -29 ℃, Method B 5.6 ℃, Method C 20 ℃~30 ℃ (other negotiated temperatures), pretreatment time: 15 minutes (1 hour)
2) Impact angle 90 ° (45 °);
3) The impact pressure is set to (483kPa) (200kPa);
4) The stone type is pebbles (other negotiated types);
5) The stone size is 9.53mm~15.86mm;
6) Quantity of stones: 1pt (2pt);
7) Perform 1 (2) (10) impact cycles on the test sample.
2. According to the requirements of ISO 20567-1-2017 test method, the specific requirements are as follows:
1) Sample pretreatment temperature: 23 ℃± 2 ℃, 50% ± 5%;
2) Preprocessing time: 16h (24h);
3) Impact angle: VDA90 ° (VDA45 °);
4) The impact pressure is set to (483kPa) (200kPa);
5) The type of stone is cold hard cast iron;
6) The stone size is 3.55mm~5.0mm (other negotiated types);
7) Quantity of stones: 100g (200g) (500g);
8) Perform 1 (2) (10) impact cycles on the test sample.
3. According to the requirements of ASTM D3170/D3170M-2014 test method, the specific requirements are as follows:
1) Sample pretreatment temperature: room temperature/(-29 ℃± 3 ℃);
2) Preprocessing time: (1h)(2h)(4h)(24h);
3) Impact angle 90 ° (45 °);
4) The impact pressure is set to (483kPa) (200kPa);
5) The stone type is pebbles (other negotiated types);
6) The stone size is 9.53mm~15.86mm;
7) Quantity of stones: 1pt (2pt);
8) Perform 1 (2) (10) impact cycles on the test sample.
